Beasts of No Nation signifies a ruthless tale of child soldiers in Africa. When you have seen children fighting with weapons while their lives have broken by the trials of WAR, your heart will cry out for sympathy and anguish.
This film is an emotionally open-eye experience. There are some sensitive scenes that left my mouth open, literally. A solid piece of film which teams up with effective actors and blunts of political and moral issues that every country has experienced.
I hope every one of us understands through this film how really fortunate we are. I don’t think this is all about being racist, porn violence or morbid, it’s just that somewhere out there, this cruelty happened to our young children, in any kind of “war” that corrupted their innocence and humanity.
“If I am sun, I will be finding another place to be shining where people are not using my light to be doing terrible terrible thing.”
We know his name and he resurfaced as Jason Borne, who tried to break the silent about his past and revealing about his origins.
For me, this Bourne movie is not as strongly constructed as I expected to be. Though the action scenes are quite real enough, I feel like something is missing, maybe because most of the action consists mainly of chases which makes the person beside me whining of falling to sleep.
Well, I just hope it was a fury road, but it wasn’t enough.
“When the day becomes the night and the sky becomes the sea, When the clock strikes heavy and there’s no time for tea. And in our darkest hour, before my final rhyme, she will come back home to Wonderland and turn back the hands of time.”- Mad Hatter
This movie isn’t as bad as the critics say. It was still good to be back in wonderland. As what Absolem told; “you’ve been gone too long, Alice. There are matters which might benefit from your attention. Friends cannot be neglected. Hurry.”
Christy Beam mentioned this quote from Albert Einstein: “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
I know we have our own perception of what a miracle is, for me, it must be first determined from our own experiences. When God tested our Faith, sometimes He left us nothing so we can find Him as our everything. This is a difficult road to take of how much trust we can rely on Him to work things out, or by losing our faith in the process.
I am not a very religious person, but I do believe in miracles. As the movie highlighted, “Miracles are goodness from strangers to dear friends who are there for us no matter what. Miracles are love. Miracles are God and God’s forgiveness.” I think we should just stop and look around, we will see them anywhere and everywhere.
I like this movie, well, I always like this kind of movie where it brings out the significant details about Life, Faith and Family. I don’t need to deliberate more about believing miracles, you know, “They’ll get there when they get there.”
“As long as you can still grab a breath, you fight. You breathe… keep breathing.”
The movie is all about the love of a father to his half Pawnee son (Hawk)whose mother was taken away by other white men, and eventually died in the hands of John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy) who disgusts Native Americans more than anything else in his life.
The Revenant, Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) who has returned supposedly from the dead made a stunning but harrowing survival to revenge the death of his son, tracking down John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy) who betrayed and abandoned him.
Watching the movie for almost 3 hours, I couldn’t stop thinking “what’s next? What’s next?” Just couldn’t believe someone will survive with those tormenting moments, I must have died since the start.
Some reviews commented of disappointment of the movie . “There’s no ‘there’ there. Long Brutal. No clear Eco message. Violent and pointless. Revenge in the wilderness.”
But for me, It was brutally beautiful. In reality, are you going to revenge the one that you love? or trust revenge in God’s hand & not yours?
“In the year 1971, San Francisco faces the terror of a maniac known as Scorpio- who snipes at innocent victims and demands ransom through notes left at the scene of the crime. Inspector Harry Callahan (known as Dirty Harry by his peers through his reputation handling of homicidal cases) is assigned to the case along with his newest partner Inspector Chico Gonzalez to track down Scorpio and stop him. Using humiliation and cat and mouse type of games against Callahan, Scorpio is put to the test with the cop with a dirty attitude.”
“Dirty” is Harry was known as a knight in shining armor who tried to wipe clean the scummy world he lives in. He’s given all the dirty jobs and fiercely dedicated to stop at nothing to get his job done. Definitely, Harry is an ultimate badass cop, but cares more about justice than he does about the rules.
This movie is both timeless and of its time. A very good illustration of the cops and destroyers genre and a hero in a desperate case. This film mirrors our society and unambiguously everyone’s aim for justice and change. No doubt about it.
Is there any remake of this movie? Well, there is only one Dirty Harry and he will always be Clint Eastwood.
There are a number of scenes which will give you a “laugh-out-loud” moment. The movie is all about a socially awkward guy enters into a charade by hiring a best man for him on his wedding and 7 groomsmen as well. Maybe this is not the best comedy of the year, but It’s hard not to like it because it made me laugh constantly.
Groundhog Dayis a day celebrated on February 2. According to folklore, if it is cloudy when a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day, then spring will come early; if it is sunny, the groundhog will supposedly see its shadow and retreat back into its burrow, and the winter weather will persist for six more weeks.
A TV weatherman working for a local station in Pennsylvania (Phil) wakes up the next morning with the strangest sense of living the same day over again. No matter what he does, he’s stuck in February 2, 1992.
The movie was great. It is well-written, well-acted, and very positive and moving. Though some of the scenes deals with depression and undertakes a series of suicide attempts, seduces women, steals money, drives recklessly, and gets thrown in jail, but at the end Phil (Bill Murray) endeavors to improve himself and became a better person.
It makes sense that the day is not a redo; it’s a “one more” chance.
“Based upon the best-selling novel by James Dashner. When Thomas wakes up trapped in a massive maze with a group of other boys, he has no memory of the outside world other than strange dreams about a mysterious organization known as W.C.K.D. Only by piecing together fragments of his past with clues he discovers in the maze can Thomas hope to uncover his true purpose and a way to escape.”
I haven’t read the books so I was hoping for a satisfying sequel. Generally, I like it. I was entertained but I think the kids will love it more.
“I don’t have much to offer, but I promise you can have the best of me .”
